
170 Systems, Inc., Expands Management Team
CAMBRIDGE, MA - January 7, 2003 - Continuing to add depth of experience and expertise to its already strong group of leaders, 170 Systems, Inc, today announced the addition of two key players to its management team. Peter Tyrrell joins 170 Systems, as vice president of sales, and Chip Cabot joins 170 Systems as vice president of human resources.
As Vice President of Sales, Tyrrell brings extensive technology-focused expertise, along with a strong background in sales management and business development to 170 Systems. Prior to joining 170 Systems, Peter served as VP of sales and business development, at Vividon. Before joining Vividon, Peter was the VP of business development for ArrowPoint Communications, a leading provider of content switching technology, acquired by Cisco Systems in June 2000. While at ArrowPoint, Peter established several significant strategic alliances and partnerships for the company. Earlier in his career at Parametric Technology Corporation, Peter was instrumental in growing revenues from $11M to over $1B.
Cabot directs the company's human resources activities, including employment, compensation and benefits, and organizational development. In addition, Chip is responsible for the corporate operations and information technology functions. Chip has over 20 years of experience in building technology-based companies. Prior to joining 170 Systems, he was vice president of human resources and operations at SilverStream Software, a leading developer of web services technologies. While at SilverStream (which was purchased by Novell in 2002), Chip built and managed the worldwide HR function through a period of rapid expansion, including an IPO and five corporate acquisitions.
